Made in Italy: ‘Kimono’ designer pendant light in the shape of a lantern

White fibreglass is the primary material used for this pendant light, which was designed by the Italian designer Matteo Ugolini. His design is called ‘Kimono’ and is intended to represent a lantern in a stylised form. The fibreglass is not cut straight at the light outlets at the top and bottom, but is deliberately left in such a way that it appears to be fraying. When the light is switched on, the translucent fibreglass creates a cosy and, above all, glare-free glow.

The Italian lighting manufacturer Karman is renowned for its extraordinary designs that express and evoke emotions. Matteo Ugolini is the company’s Art Director. He designs the majority of the lights in the company’s portfolio. Aesthetics and uniqueness are the hallmarks of Karman’s handcrafted lights.
