The series of lights Curling has been expanded to include a wall-mounted luminaire which is particularly robust thanks to its acrylic lampshade. The clear lampshade, combined with the optical insert fitted in front of the light source and the hand-polished metal surfaces, creates a decorative play of light and provides diffuse general lighting to the front and all around. The lampshade, which can be removed without tools and is even dishwasher-safe, proves particularly practical. The patented replacement system allows the LED unit to be swapped out; however, given an average usage of 6 hours a day, this is not expected to be necessary for around 10 years. Thanks to TRIAC dimmability, the light output can be adjusted externally to suit the specific circumstances.

The Germany-based company, founded in 1985, manufactures intelligent lighting solutions characterised by sophisticated structures that influence the lighting effect and a minimalist, modern design. The two company founders, Jean-Marc da Costa and Manfred Wolf, have designed, amongst many other lights, the Curling series of lights, which was honoured with the German Design Award Special 2021, among other accolades.
