The PH 5 pendant light by Louis Poulsen provides comfortable, glare-free light based on the principle of Poul Henningsen’s three-lampshade reflective system, the PH System. The opal lampshades combine the glare-free, downward-directed light with soft, diffused ambient lighting from the translucent, opal lampshades, which create omnidirectional, uniform brightness with greater coverage.

The PH 5 designer pendant light has been expanded with the 320 series to include polymer variants with glossy exteriors in delicate colours and white interiors. Like all lights in the PH 5 series, this one also creates a unique lighting effect without glare thanks to its interesting three-lampshade system, as the light from the bulb is repeatedly reflected by the lampshades, creating a very cosy atmosphere whilst also providing good general lighting in the room. In the living room, dining room or kitchen, the PH 5 320 pendant light becomes a source of light that provides good general illumination whilst also serving as an impressive focal point above a table.

The PH 5 pendant light series was originally created in 1958 by the Danish designer Poul Henningsen. The light was his response to the constantly changing shapes and sizes of traditional light bulbs at the time. Poul Henningsen designed numerous designer lights for the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, a long-established company that has been producing designer lights with a very special flair for over 100 years.
