Handcrafted Buchi pendant light, made in Italy
‘Buchi’ – meaning ‘holes’ in German – is a fitting name for a pendant light whose lampshade is dotted with holes. However, these holes are not completely punched through; instead, part of the material remains attached at one point. This allows the light to find its way through the holes, which then act as small light outlets in the otherwise opaque shade material. The four-part lampshade consists of hammered metal plates of varying sizes and shapes. As the plates are not joined flush with one another, the light can escape not only downwards and through the holes, but also to the sides.
The products from Knikerboker, an Italian lighting manufacturer, are made in Italy. Great importance is placed on craftsmanship, making each light a truly unique piece.
