Foscarini Spokes 2 - LED pendant lamp in multi-spoke designInspired by the spokes of a wheel, García and Cumini created the design for the LED pendant lamp Spokes for the world-renowned lighting company Foscarini in 2015. The voluminous, lantern-like body of the luminaire is created by numerous round steel tubes, each of which comes together in a point at the top and bottom, giving the luminaire an extremely dynamic effect. The struts are painted with epoxy powder, giving them a matte finish.On the one hand, Spokes 2 directs a focused beam of light directly downwards, and on the other hand, thanks to an upward LED light source, it also illuminates the inside of the shade, excellently enhancing the cage look. The cable for powering the DALI-dimmable LEDs has been invisibly integrated into one of the steel struts, making it invisible to the viewer. A small trick, which underlines the professionalism and attention to detail of the manufacturer Foscarini, which is also familiar from all other products. Spokes 2 almost seems to float in the middle of the room, so thin was kept the stainless steel suspension to distract as little as possible from the luminaire itself.The Spokes family of lamps is an architectural masterpiece from the pen of the Italian studio García Cumini, which combines the interdisciplinary skills of two designers and creates unique design objects.
