The elegant glass shade is what makes the Buds 2 pendant light so special. It is handcrafted from five different layers of handblown glass. Only the bottom, innermost layer is a shade of yellow; the remaining layers are in their respective main colours. The individual layers are still clearly visible on the underside of the lampshade, so to speak at the edges of the opening. When the light is switched on, the lampshade reveals its full splendour. Whilst the pendant light appears rather cool and understated when switched off, it radiates a pleasant and warm atmosphere when lit. This is made possible by the supplied, replaceable LED bulb with an E27 socket, as well as the yellow glass layer on the inside. This enhances the warm white colour of the bulb and makes the lampshade appear warmer even through the five layers. With its bulbous lampshade, the Buds 2 pendant light is ideally suited to modern table lighting. The downward-facing light is also dimmable, allowing the brightness to be adjusted at any time.

The outstanding design is the work of Italian product designer and architect Rodolfo Dordoni, who originally designed the Buds series for Foscarini back in the 1990s. The new version has been adapted and reinterpreted in line with current trends, without losing any of its timeless elegance and beauty.
