Wirering LED wall light – a unique lighting piece for indirect light

This wall light appears more like a work of art than a light source. This is due to the distinctive approach taken by the creators of Wirering, the two Italian designers Andrea Trimarchi & Simone Farresin of the Amsterdam-based studio Formafantasma.

Their interest in product design developed whilst they were studying at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Their body of work to date, which is already world-renowned, is characterised by experimental material research and an exploration of the relationship between tradition and local culture, whilst recognising the significance of objects as cultural conduits.

The Wirering wall light consists of a ring made of extruded, satin-finished aluminium, finished using an electroplating process, fitted on the inside with a warm white LED strip. The ring is clamped between the wall and a protective rubber cable, which provides the electrical supply. Wirering is connected to the mains via a 250 cm long cable with a plug. A foot switch on the cable enables the light to be dimmed continuously.

A designer light from FLOS (Italy), a company that has been associated with the world’s most renowned art, architecture and design museums for over 50 years.
