Big FL/Y - designer hanging light with LED, green

Gross LED pendant light FL/Y by Ferruccio Laviani, 83 cm diameter Ferruccio Laviani is a long-standing designer and art director of the Italian company Kartell, which produces household items and furniture as well as lights. All of Kartell's developments have one thing in common: they are made of plastic in all its forms and colours. This also applies to the lampshade of the FL/Y pendant light, a model that Laviani designed for the Italian company in 2002. This bulbous, round lampshade is neither spherical nor hemispherical, as the cut surface and therefore the light emission surface is slightly below the centre. This has the purpose of focussing the emitted light even better and enhancing the lighting effect on the surface below. Plastic in all its variations is the material from which the products of the Italian design company Kartell are made. Since its foundation in 1949, the designers at Kartell have been exploring how plastic can be utilised and how it can best be designed and processed so that functionality and aesthetics harmonise perfectly. Well-known designer pieces from the Milan-based company include the K 1340 children's chair and the KS 1481 lemon squeezer, while the 4006 model by Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni from 1959 is a highly recognisable flagship light.
