The Vitruvio pendant light is particularly eye-catching thanks to its uniquely designed lampshade. This is transparent and made from hand-blown glass. Visually, it is reminiscent of a cocoon or a beehive. Horizontal strips have been embossed into the shape, which conceal the light source inside whilst ensuring glare-free illumination and an even distribution of light throughout the surrounding area.

For suspension and stabilisation, three movable metal struts are inserted into the lampshade; these open via a mechanism inside. This creates a structure that supports the glass sphere, balancing its weight and holding it securely. Decorative filament-style bulbs are particularly well-suited for illuminating this hanging light, as the bulb is visible through the glass lampshade and its distinctive appearance further enhances the pendant light’s appeal. The light can be dimmed using an external leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmer and a dimmable bulb.

The projects by the design collective Atelier Oï are characterised in particular by their well-thought-out design and high quality. Sustainability also plays a major role, with a particular focus on traditional manufacturing processes. These values are supported by the lighting manufacturer Artemide.
