Meteorite designer table lamp with a prominent glass lampshade
In 2015, the brothers Pio and Tito Toso from Venice won the Reddot Design Award Essen (Germany) for their design of the Meteorite table lamp. This wonderful table lamp was given its name due to the similarity of the glass lampshade to a meteorite, the small cosmic bodies that fall to the Earth from space.
As well as the shape, the special feature of the Meteorite is the properties of the glass which are produced using a special manufacturing process, in which the glass is immersed in acid according to Venetian tradition and then processed with sand. This ensures that the light emitted is refracted in a special way. The table lamp is a very aesthetic light source, which can be placed anywhere in your apartment depending on your tastes and furnishings.
Meteorite is produced and distributed by the Italian company Artemide. Founded in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi, the company has produced many design lamps over the decades which are now thought of as contemporary design icons.
