For me, the special appeal of retro is that not everything has to match perfectly. A flea market find with patina, a light made of tinted glass or shiny metal, and a new design piece together can be much more exciting than a room completely decked out in retro. I particularly like it when a retro lamp stands out as a real statement piece while the rest of the decor remains a bit calmer.
As for the light itself, it's worth taking a closer look at the details: Warm white light with 2700-3000 Kelvin underscores the homely retro character. Different light sources create depth – for instance, a pendant light for the dining table, a table lamp on the sideboard, and a floor lamp next to the sofa. It becomes especially appealing when the light interacts with various materials: opal glass diffuses it softly, ribbed or tinted glass produces lively reflections, and shiny metal reflects it back into the room.
