LED bed lighting with LED strips
Not just beautiful for dreamingMaking the bed even cosier as a snug retreat is best achieved with LED strips or batten lights for beautifully dimmable and also coloured mood lighting. The practical trunking lights are placed behind the headboard or under the bed for pleasant indirect light. Indirectly lit LED strips also have a very atmospheric effect on box spring beds with their high headboard.
Modern bed lighting with LED strips is easy to install without specialist knowledge. LED strips have an adhesive surface or mounting clips that allow them to be quickly attached under the bed or to the headboard. LED strips can often be shortened (every 10 cm, for example). The right LED bed lighting should match the width of the bed, which is often 90 cm for a single bed, around 140 cm for a French bed and at least 160-180 cm or more for a double or box-spring bed. Connecting elements for corners and edges ensure clean transitions without kinks. The appropriate power supply units are often included and it is possible to use extensions to customise the bed lighting exactly to the individual bed. Dimmable models make the bedside light particularly convenient. The technology for this is often located directly in the LEDs.

Wall lamps with switch
Cosiness at the touch of a buttonBeautiful to look at and at the same time space-saving are luminous all-rounders that are mounted on the wall next to the headboard: Wall lights with a switch offer perfect lighting comfort, for example as a reading lamp, and at the same time do not take up any space on the bedside table. This also makes them a suitable lighting solution for box-spring beds where the high headboard needs to be incorporated into the lighting concept. In terms of design, you have a wonderfully wide choice to customise the wall lamp with switch exactly to your personal style.

Reading lamps and clip-on lights for the bed
Big dreams in a small spaceIf you want to save space on the bedside table, a practical clip-on light or compact reading lamp for the bed is a good choice. Clip-on lights are very popular in smaller rooms such as teenagers' rooms or guest rooms, for single beds or as a spontaneous lighting solution. They can simply be clamped to the headboard and are therefore a practical solution without drilling. And: nobody says that a clip-on light can't be extremely stylish. Many well-known lighting brands even offer a clamp light version of their great design classics. There really is nothing standing in the way of stylish lighting pleasure.

Plug-in lights for bedrooms and children's rooms
Feel-good lighting via socketPlug-in lights do not require a bedside table and can be simply plugged into the power point next to the bed or headboard. Et voilà: The bedside lighting for reading in bed is perfect. Plug-in lights are also very popular near doors or in corridors, as they improve orientation around and outside the bedroom. Night lights, especially with motion detectors, are also recommended in children's rooms: they ensure safety at night by switching on the light when it is needed without disturbing sleep with bright light.

Classic & modern bedside lamps
Luminous design dreamsThey quickly become a personal favourite lighting object: whether as a discreet light source, with a striking colour accent or as an artistic design piece bedside table lamps give the sleeping area a unique touch. Of course, they are also incredibly practical if you have to get up in the middle of the night and don't want to wake your partner, or if you want to get stuck into your favourite book in the evening.

Motion detector & smart lighting control
Modern bed lighting with motion detectors not only offers a high level of comfort, but also a significant increase in safety and energy efficiency. Thanks to intelligent technology, the bedside light is switched on exactly when it is needed, automatically when movement is detected, without the need for a switch. This avoids tripping hazards, does not disturb your sleeping partner and saves electricity at the same time, as the light switches off again after leaving the detection range. In combination with smart lighting systems, the bedroom also becomes an intelligent comfort zone. The bed lighting can be individually programmed via app control, voice command or the setting of schedules for different times of day or scene control (e.g. "reading", "sleeping", "getting up").
Technology & lighting effect
It's not just the technology that counts, the right light also makes the bed lamps a feel-good factor in the bedroom:
- Colour temperature: Go for warm white light (less than 3,300 K) for relaxed evening hours and a cosy atmosphere.
- Brightness: For reading light we recommend approx. 200 to 400 lumens. Less is enough for mood lighting.
- Dimmable: Particularly useful for bedside reading lamps to be able to adjust the brightness individually.
- Control: Whether manually, with remote control, by app control or via a motion sensor: modern systems offer flexible options.
Avoid typical mistakes with bed lighting
- Wrong colour temperature in the sleeping area: Avoid daylight white and possibly even cool white light (>3,300 Kelvin) so as not to reduce the cosiness of the room.
- Bad positioning: A bed lamp should never shine directly into your face and therefore dazzle you. This applies to bedside table lamps & co. as well as ceiling lights. Side wall lights, flexible reading lamps and ceiling lights with a satinised lampshade for glare-free light that doesn't disturb are ideal.
- Unsuitable LED strips: Look for strips that can be shortened to fit the bed width (for example 90 / 140 / 180 cm) and use retrofit kits with extensions to make the LED strips exactly the right length.
- Dimmable or sensor-based reading lamps are particularly recommended for children or adults who have to get up more often at night. Make sure it is easy to operate at any time from any position (e.g. lying down or in the dark).
