Wall lights and ceiling lights for the terrace
Outdoor wall lights and ceiling lights are the Basis of well thought-out patio lighting. They provide uniform light for dining areas or entrances and look particularly harmonious when they are architecturally harmonised with the façade. LED technology not only reduces energy costs, but also allows different colour temperatures to be selected - such as warm white for cosy hours or cool white for a sober, clear effect.
Floor lamps, table lamps and mobile lighting objects for outdoors
Free-standing patio lamps such as floor lamps or table lamps complement the fixed basic lighting. They can be used flexibly next to seating groups, lounge furniture or side tables and add a cosy touch to the outdoor area. Mobile versions with rechargeable batteries are particularly practical, as they can be used without a power connection and even put remote spots on the patio or in the garden in the right light.

Solar lights are a sustainable way of illuminating the patio without a power connection. They are suitable for flower beds, paths or for marking transitions between house and garden. They produce a soft, decorative light that creates an inviting atmosphere, especially at social gatherings.
Functional aspects of a patio lamp
In addition to design and atmosphere, technical features also play an important role in a patio lamp. The patio can only be used reliably and comfortably if the protection, brightness and equipment are tailored to the outdoor area.
IP code and outdoor safety
As patio lamps are exposed to wind and weather, the right IP code is crucial. IP44 is usually sufficient for covered areas, as the light is splash-proof. Open areas or garden sections require greater protection in order to remain functional for a long time even in heavy rain or dust. This ensures that the lighting works reliably over the long term.
Brightness, colour temperature and suitable bulb
The illuminance should be appropriate for the purpose. A guideline value is 100-150 lumens per square metre, so that seating areas are pleasantly illuminated without dazzling. Warm white creates a cosy, relaxed atmosphere, while cool white develops a clear, functional lighting effect. Daylight is rather unsuitable for terraces as it appears very bright and cool. Efficient LED bulbs combine low energy consumption with a long service life.
