Verner Panton's Fun 2TM table lamp - made of real mother-of-pearl platelets While the Danish architect and designer Verner Panton generally liked to use artificial materials in his designs, he made an exception for one of his most famous lamp series, the Fun series, and designed it with real shells - mother-of-pearl. Chains of round mother-of-pearl plates of varying lengths hang from the two metal rings that form the base of the Fun 2TM table lamp. Like a curtain, they shield the bulb so that it does not dazzle. Fun 2TM not only produces light and is a real gem on the bedside table or a side table, but also sets acoustic accents. When the mother-of-pearl chains are set in motion by a gentle breeze, a lovely chime is heard. Verner Panton (1926-1998) is regarded as one of Denmark's most important architects and designers. He achieved worldwide fame above all with his extraordinary pieces of furniture, such as the Panton Chair, the first cantilever chair made entirely of plastic. The lights by Verner Panton are all engraved with his name and come with a certificate of authenticity.
