Torch-shaped wall light in Art Deco design The wall light with a lampshade made of white opal glass is modelled on an Art Deco piece by designers Rosi Findeisen and Jo Kähne, who created the Original in 1980. The frame is optionally made of brass or chrome-plated metal. Form and style of the wall light are based on a torch that used to be attached to the wall for lighting. The light from the wall light shines upwards, which further emphasises the effect. This light is not only an engaging and practical product, but also a piece of art history, as the two designers have intensively studied the Art Deco style and forms in the history of art. Authenticity and quality are important to the manufacturer. The company vouches for both with consecutive numbering of each piece and a stamp, as is the case with this model. 1979 marked the starting point for the manufacturer: in this year, founder Walter Schnepel set about reissuing Wilhelm Wagenfeld's historic table lamp. Wilhelm Wagenfeld was one of the students of the Bauhaus, the famous art school founded by Walter Gropius in 1919. It was there that modern architecture developed. The company's reproductions breathe new life into the Klassiks from this period. In addition to Wagenfeld, other Bauhaus artists can be found in the programme, such as Gyula PAP and Marianne BRANDT. The lighting manufacturer has also made a name for itself with pieces in the Stil of Art Deco, as well as with works attributed to the De Stijl group from the Netherlands, which came together in 1917.
