Versatile Philips Hue ‘Runner’ ceiling light with dimmer switch and two adjustable spotlights

Thanks to built-in ZigBee technology, this ceiling light – which consists of a narrow metal strip with two swivelling spotlights attached to it – can be integrated into an existing Hue system, allowing the light to be controlled via the Hue app on a tablet or smartphone. The two White Ambiance GU10 LED bulbs supplied with the light can be adjusted not only in brightness but also in colour temperature, allowing the lighting settings to be customised. Depending on how you feel or your mood, the light can thus be optimally adapted to the user’s needs and preferences, enabling the ambience of the room to be deliberately altered.

If connection to a Hue system is not desired or possible, the light can also be controlled without being linked to such a smart home system, using the dimmer switch included in the pack. The following pre-set lighting modes are available on the dimmer switch: Relaxation, Reading, Concentration and Energy. In addition to these lighting settings, the light can also be conveniently dimmed using the dimmer switch, as the name suggests.

Note: A bridge, such as the Philips Hue Bridge (see accessories), is required for smart lighting control.

- Smart lighting control option a: ZigBee integration via a bridge and router, such as the Philips Hue Bridge (see accessories); this enables control on-site or remotely via the Hue app, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit (Siri) and Google Assistant.

- Smart lighting control option b: Direct on-site control via Bluetooth using the free Hue Bluetooth app. If more than ten lights are used within the Bluetooth control system, the use of a bridge is recommended.
