Modern, robust and ready for more: the ZigBee-enabled Brick LED deck light with motion and twilight sensors

True to its name, the ZigBee-based Brick LED deck light is available in classic brick dimensions. Once installed, it blends in seamlessly with its surroundings, standing out only for its pleasant and even illumination. Made from stainless steel, it can withstand loads of up to 500 kg when installed and is also protected against temporary submersion.

Brick can be switched on and off using a switch on the underside. When switched on, the twilight sensor is active and automatically switches the light on at dusk and off at dawn. Additionally, the switch can be set to ‘Mode’. In this mode, the motion detector is also active. It reacts to movement within a radius of one metre and causes Brick to illuminate at 100% for 30 seconds as soon as movement is detected.

The light emits light with a low colour temperature of 2,200 K. This colour temperature is in line with recommendations from professional associations and scientific studies aimed at reducing the attractiveness of artificial lighting to many nocturnal insects.

Brick realises its full potential when integrated into a smart home system. The colour temperature can then be adjusted, the brightness is dimmable, and everything can be conveniently controlled remotely via a smartphone. The smik gateway is available separately as an accessory. It acts as a bridge and comes with a free app that is also compatible with Amazon Alexa. This allows the recessed floor light to be operated in two modes: at 100 per cent or at 20 per cent with a pleasant warm white colour temperature. This lies outside the visible spectrum of most insects, so they are not attracted to it.

Alternatively, it can be integrated into ZigBee-enabled smart home systems from other providers. ZigBee handheld transmitters from Paulmann, which allow for smart lighting control even without a bridge, are also available via the accessories section.
