The VL Ring Crown wall light combines attractive design with functionality
The VL Ring Crown wall light consists of a rounded lampshade made of handblown opal glass, which is open at the bottom. This directs the light primarily downwards, whilst the opal glass ensures even and soft illumination of the immediate surroundings. The light is mounted on the wall using an untreated brass bracket, which also houses the push-button switch.
The lights were designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen for the Radio Building in Copenhagen, where they were installed in large numbers. Lauritzen remains one of Denmark’s most significant architects to this day and, through his architectural practice, collaborated on numerous projects with the lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, which has now included the VL Ring Crown design in its range.
