Karman Plancton Outdoor Hanging Light, Ø 75 cm

Plancton designer pendant light for outdoor use

The Italian lighting manufacturer Karman places great emphasis on well-thought-out designs, high-quality craftsmanship and unique lighting effects. The Plancton outdoor hanging light also excels in these areas.

Designer Matteo Ugolini drew inspiration from plankton, the ubiquitous micro-organisms found in the sea. The floating nature of their movement is recreated in the pendant light through frayed fibre ends along the lower edge of the shade. Fibreglass is used as the material, which in the Plancton is woven into a dense fabric. The white, hemispherical lampshade – open at the bottom – serves as a luminous accent in outdoor spaces and also provides direct lighting on a veranda or terrace. The 5-metre-long cable can be wound around beams or similar structures, allowing the suspension height to be adjusted as required.
