The Italian lighting manufacturer Karman offers high-quality products based on creative ideas, which impress with their distinctive appeal. When designing Kimono, for instance, designer Matteo Ugolini aimed to make the piece appear to float weightlessly in the room, blending seamlessly with its surroundings, despite being modelled on a heavy cylinder. To achieve this, the Kimono outdoor hanging light is crafted from a dense weave of fine fibreglass fibres, the frayed ends of which extend freely into the space. The design, which is already eye-catching by day, takes on an even greater radiance when illuminated in the dark.
