The 12-bulb Birdie pendant light is reminiscent of a flock of birds

Twelve winged LED bulbs are attached to tangled, intertwined and knotted wires and cables, which converge in the centre of the light and wind their way up the sturdy suspension. The Birdie pendant light by Munich-based lighting designer Ingo Maurer symbolises a flock of birds, for real birds, too, fly off in all directions once they are startled. The ‘blades’ of the bulbs, designed to resemble little birds, are crafted from hand-worked goose feathers and lend Birdie the necessary lightness. As such, Birdie does not necessarily need to be switched on to make an impact as a design piece. When switched on, the frosted lamps provide an even, pleasant light.

Provided you have the necessary space and a suitable interior in your own home, Birdie looks great there as an eye-catching light and decorative feature; at the same time, it is also ideal for creating special lighting in hotels and restaurants where a slightly more unusual décor is preferred.

The LED bulbs with E27 sockets are dimmable using a universal LED dimmer.
