Pedrera H2O table lamp: a new edition of the 1955 classic

The simple beauty of the Pedrera H2O table lamp has lost none of its appeal in all the years since its creation. Its decorative, cylindrical metal shade stands on delicate legs. Small holes are punched all around the cylinder, allowing the light to escape in all directions.

The original design is by Barba Corsini, who undertook the renovation of Casa Milà in Barcelona. His task was to transform the attic of the building, which was constructed between 1906 and 1912 by Antoni Gaudí and is also known by locals as La Pedrera (the quarry) due to its enormous size and irregular façade, into modern apartments. The series of lights was created as part of the redesign of the interior and includes table lamps, floor lamps, pendant lights and a glass table.

When Casa Milà was renovated in 1991, gallery owner Joaquim Ruiz Millet discovered one of the lights. In cooperation with Barba Corsini, the original designs were revised. Danish lighting and furniture manufacturer Gubi took over the production of the new edition.
