Foscarini Rituals - table lamp made of hand-blown Glas, with dimmer The Rituals table lamp from Foscarini radiates pure relaxation and balance. The shape and structure of its mouth-blown glass shade is less reminiscent of solid glass and more of light Japanese paper. True to its name, Rituals proves that the background lighting for meditation or relaxation sessions does not necessarily have to come from light sources made of Natur materials, but that lights made of glass can also conjure up a cosy, feel-good atmosphere. The horizontal rings that run through the lampshade of the light are created using a special glass processing technique called "a fermo". With this blowing technique, the Glas is not twisted in the mould. Negative decorations in the mould are imprinted into the Glas, creating the characteristic stripe pattern that appears impressively when the light is switched on. The finishing touches are literally made by hand. Last but not least, immersing the Glas in acid creates a plaster-like appearance. The Glas rests on a minimalist three-legged frame made of lacquered metal with a roughened surface - a clear but fitting contrast to the organically shaped lampshade. Foscarini's Rituals is best suited to rooms with a calm, cosy atmosphere. The Rituals series, designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, offers a particularly expressive composition of different types and forms of light.
