Foscarini Birdie LED grande – Designer LED table lamp with touch dimmer

In 2011, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, a design duo from Milan, completely reinterpreted the form and function of the classic table lamp with a lampshade in their own unique way, designing the Birdie table lamp for the renowned lighting manufacturer Foscarini. On closer inspection, it becomes clear that they drew inspiration from nature. One then recognises similarities between the shaft, which tapers towards the top, and a tree trunk; between the conical lampshade and a tree crown; and between the delicate crossbar and a branch. And this very branch seems made to welcome a little bird – ‘Birdie’ – which is how the table lamp got its name.

Crafted from high-quality materials – the basis and stem in lacquered metal, the lampshade in translucent polycarbonate – Birdie makes a statement in terms of design and lighting effect. Whether placed on the floor or a table, the light becomes a stylish eye-catcher, regardless of the colour it comes in. Thanks to its complete lack of glare, it fills the room with a diffuse, pleasant ambient light, which can be adjusted in stages as required using the touch dimmer fitted to the crossbar.
