Foscarini Bahia – LED ceiling light, dimmable

The Bahia LED ceiling light captivates with its sculptural composition of injection-moulded polycarbonate discs of varying sizes, arranged asymmetrically one above the other. Both the imperfectly round shape and the asymmetry lend Bahia an organic character. The light source is cleverly concealed within the light, creating a play of light that is exclusively indirect. The light finds its way out through the gaps between the discs. Bahia looks particularly striking when switched on, with the top disc standing out as a shadow element.

Bahia – who doesn’t think of Brazil’s palm-fringed sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters when hearing this name? The design of the light, reminiscent of an aerial view of an archipelago, conveys precisely this South American lightness. The designer duo Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere, working in synergy with Foscarini’s research activities, have created several product ranges for the premium Venetian brand.

To ensure an optimal lighting effect, the LED light source for the LED variants of the Bahia family was developed and implemented by Foscarini itself. The light source installed in this light achieves particularly good colour rendering with a CRI ( > ) of 90 and is DALI-dimmable. Bahia can, of course, also be used as a wall light and creates an atmospheric ambience both as a standalone piece and in a composition of several units.
