Floor lamp KTribe F2 with double shade - by designer Philippe Starck

PMMA on the outside, polycarbonate on the inside - this is the design of the two shades of the floor lamp KTribe F2. The shades differ not only in material and shape, but also in their orientation: the inner shade is open at the top, the outer shade at the bottom. It is also the outer shade that has the typical, even classic shape of a lampshade: conical, tapering towards the top. The lighting effect is largely determined by these two shades.

Philippe Starck, the inventor of this floor lamp has already designed quite a few lamps for the company FLOS and is known for his sometimes very unusual ideas. According to the designer, the KTribe luminaire series was created from the further development of one of his earlier series, the Miss K luminaire family. The similarity can not be completely dismissed. But the fusion of a design into another design is always associated with an evolution, so Starck explains the genesis of the new lights
