Ultra-flat OMLED One s5 OLED hanging light
The rectangular OMLED One s5 OLED hanging light features organic OLEDs and has been made in Germany. The delicate suspension system makes the flat body look like a floating light surface. The material glass – one of the oldest materials known to man – plays a key role in the production of this light. Glass has been used for a wide range of purposes for millennia; not least due to its almost unlimited life span, its great versatility and its production from natural raw materials that are of unlimited supply. It carries light and is, therefore, the perfect material for this role. The integrated user interface sees the glass take on the function of a circuit board and thus allows for very environmentally friendly and sustainable production.
OMLED One is the first range of lights in the world to be fitted with OLEDs. These groundbreaking “organic light-emitting diodes” combine many ecological and economic benefits. The thin sheets of semi-conductive organic materials, which serve as bulbs, are located between the two conductive layers. The organic layer emits the light so long as the current flows. The glass housing is both the control panel and the circuit board. The manufacturing process used to create OMLED One s5 has been developed in Germany and patented. Electronic components, tracks, contacts and a switch to dim the light have all been applied to the high-quality glass. The OLEDs and all electronic components have been arranged directly onto the glass.
The strike-through prices correspond to the manufacturer's RRP.
