Artemide Vitruvio floor lamp, dimmable, black

Vitruvio dimmable floor lamp with handblown glass lampshade

The main feature of the Vitruvio floor lamp is its transparent handblown glass lampshade. Its appearance is reminiscent of a beehive or a cocoon. Horizontal strips have been incorporated into the upper half of the lampshade, through which the bulb inside appears slightly diffused. They also ensure that the light is emitted without glare and illuminates its surroundings evenly.

To assemble the floor lamp, first insert the LED bulb (see accessories), which is surrounded by three movable metal rods. When the glass lampshade is placed on the frame, a mechanism is activated which aligns the rods and secures them firmly within the lampshade. The rods balance the weight of the sphere and ensure a secure hold. The light is conveniently operated via the included foot switch. This allows the floor lamp to be switched on and off, as well as adjusted continuously. Decorative LED bulbs are suitable for this lighting.

Vitruvio is a project by the design collective Atelier oï, whose focus is on working with high-quality materials. The floor lamp combines traditional values and time-honoured manufacturing processes, such as the art of glassblowing, with modern visions and technologies. It thus embodies the fundamental principles of Atelier oï and the lighting manufacturer Artemide.
