Lamps in deep shades of brown and red
Lights.ie showcases a range of colours from coffee to burgundyFulda, 1st October 2026 – The autumn colour palette finds its way into the home and reveals its most sensuous side. Dark coffee brown, walnut and chocolate meet rust, cinnamon, brick red and deep burgundy. The subtle nuances are reminiscent of roasted coffee, dark wood, spices and ripe fruit, lending the lights a special warmth. Sometimes understated and natural, sometimes bold and elegant, they add depth to the interior. The colour palette is particularly striking where it meets materials such as glass, ceramics, wood, metal or textiles, taking on a different character each time. Lights.ie Presented by:
Wall lights in chestnut, rust and burgundy: colour and light for atmospheric walls
Dark colours can look particularly striking on a wall. A rich chestnut brown blends almost effortlessly into warm interiors, whilst wine red and burgundy add a deeper, more sensual touch. And the surface also determines how the paint feels. A ceramic light fitting has an earthy, handcrafted feel; wood emphasises the natural side of the colour palette, whilst polished metal or marble lends the darker shades a more elegant look. When combined with warm wall colours, natural stone or wood, they create little moments of light that not only brighten up a room but also lend it a special atmosphere.

Table lamps in nougat, chocolate and burgundy: small lamps, big colour impact
On a sideboard, bedside table or side table, you can be a bit more playful with your choice of colours. Dark chocolate tones and soft nougat create a cosy, familiar atmosphere, whilst a deep coffee brown exudes understated elegance. Burgundy adds a more deliberate touch, bringing a hint of red wine and a sense of sensual depth to the mix. The light fitting and the furnishings do not necessarily have to be exactly the same colour. Far more exciting is a sense of harmony within the room: a burgundy-coloured lamp next to a painting with red hues, a cognac-coloured armchair paired with a dark brown lamp, or various warm earth tones that blend together quite naturally.

Pendant lights in walnut, rust and burgundy: warm colours take centre stage in the room
Light fittings above the dining table or kitchen island can certainly command a little more attention. Dark walnut brown and deep cocoa tones create an elegant, serene effect, whilst rust and brick colours lend an earthy warmth. Burgundy provides a bolder contrast and lends the pendant light a very distinctive colour intensity. The combination of different materials is particularly appealing. A fabric lampshade makes dark colours appear soft and cosy, tinted glass lends them an air of mystery, whilst metal creates a more precise look. Several pendant lights may also feature different shades from the colour palette. Chestnut brown, rust and burgundy do not look random when placed side by side, but rather like different facets of the same warm colour palette.

Ceiling lights in cocoa, chestnut and deep red: the warm side of general lighting
Ceiling lights no longer have to be plain and unassuming. In deep shades of brown and red, they become part of the interior design themselves and can lend a surprisingly warm feel to an otherwise light-coloured interior. Cocoa, chestnut and dark caramel create a soft, cosy feel, whilst a rich wine red or burgundy takes centre stage. The look is particularly harmonious when the colours are combined with warm woods, linen, stone or muted wall colours. A matt shade in dark brown blends discreetly into the surroundings, whilst tinted glass with subtle reflections lends a more elegant look.

Floor lamps in coffee brown, chocolate and burgundy: warm lighting for your favourite spots
A floor lamp in a deep brown shade looks almost like a piece of warm wood that has found its place in the room. Shades ranging from coffee to chocolate and dark walnut exude a sense of calm and can, of course, be combined with natural tones, wood and soft textiles. If you want to add a splash of colour, go for rust, cinnamon or burgundy. The light fitting then becomes a distinctive eye-catcher that exudes tranquillity and sensuality. These lights really come into their own where atmosphere is key: next to the sofa, by an armchair or in a cosy reading nook.

Outdoor lights in rust, brown and burgundy: earthy colours for the garden, patio and façade
Nature provides the most beautiful inspiration for this colour scheme, making it particularly harmonious when used outdoors. Rust is reminiscent of autumn leaves and weathered metal; dark brown of earth and wood; whilst deep shades of red add a surprisingly elegant splash of colour. Combined with greenery, natural stone and warm wood tones, these lights look as though they have always been part of their surroundings. On the façade, along paths or on the terrace, rust-coloured and brown lights bring a cosy glow to the evening hours. Under warm white light, dark surfaces begin to shimmer gently – and functional outdoor lighting becomes an atmospheric feature that connects the house and garden even after sunset.
