What makes a globe light
Globe lights are lights whose shape is modelled in whole or in part on a sphere. A typical feature is the uniform light emitted all round, which ensures harmonious lighting. The family of globe lamps includes not only completely closed globes, but also models with a cut-off shape - such as those that rest on a flat surface or where the light is emitted from the open side. The materials range from glass, plastic and paper to metal, wood or natural stone, meaning that LED globe lights can be found in almost every style and area of application.

Ball ceiling lights
Classic, stylish and minimalistIndoor globe lights make quite an impression on the ceiling: depending on your taste, single or multi-bulb versions provide pleasantly warm general lighting and room-wide illumination. Whether as main lighting in the living room or bedroom or in smaller versions for hallway, bathroom or kitchen - the spherical shape always looks minimalist and blends harmoniously into many living styles - from retro to Scandi, from classic to modern.
The glass version, for example in elegant opal or modern smoked glass, creates a soft, diffuse light that gives rooms a cosy atmosphere. Multi-bulb globe lights in particular create exciting islands of light - ideal for highlighting specific areas or illuminating larger rooms evenly.
Equipped with modern LED technology, spherical ceiling lights also score with energy efficiency, durability and often a dimmable function. This means that the light can be customised to suit your mood and requirements - stylish, versatile and functional at the same time.
Tip: To replace the bulb in a ball lamp, you have to pull off the ball via a small resistance (plug-in system) or unscrew it (bayonet or screw cap), depending on the model. Make sure you check in advance whether you have a model with permanently installed LEDs. This eliminates the need to replace the light source.

The pendant light as a sphere
The stylish play with graceful curvesIn living-, bedroom- and dining room, globe lights unfold absolute eye-catching potential as pendant lights - from 1-bulb to multi-bulb as cluster and multiple arrangements, from minimalist to Art Déco. Spherical lamps also vary in size, so it is difficult to say what diameter they "normally" have. Ideal positions for globe pendant lights are above tables, cooking islands, dining tables and coffee tables. Height-adjustable models are a must-have, especially above tables and counters. Globe lights go particularly well with a round table - single or multi-bulb designs depending on the size of the table.
The stylish baubles also keep up with fashion when it comes to materials: the basic ball shape can be perfectly combined with filigree elements made of shiny metal or black steel. As glass globes, pendant lights provide soft, glare-free light. Special highlight: Light vibrations of the spheres, e.g. caused by a gentle draught in the room, ensure liveliness and dynamism.
Tip for cleaning ball lamps
The best way to clean globe lights is with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Carefully remove dust or dirt from the surface - without using aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive sponges, as these could damage the material.
Before each cleaning, the light must be disconnected from the power supply or, in the case of solar ball lamps, the switch must be set to "Off". Ensure that no moisture penetrates electrical components.
For glass or plastic balls, a little mild washing-up liquid in water can help to remove fingerprints or light soiling. Then simply wipe with a dry, lint-free cloth - this will keep the ball lamp looking beautiful and shiny for a long time.

Ball floor lamps
Spherical shades supported by minimalist framesLights proudly modelled on the sphere show stylistic facets ranging from purist chic to the black and gold trend. The round lampshade is supported by slim models with minimalist lines - the combination of "line plus sphere" characterises the design of many current designs. Also popular: a filigree tripod frame that balances the sphere seemingly effortlessly. Glass is the favoured material, but metal, plastic and innovative biomaterials from the 3D printer are also used.
Spherical floor lamps look like modern sculptures and create elegant accents in the room as a design statement - whether in the living room next to the sofa, in the bedroom as soft zone lighting or in the hallway as an atmospheric eye-catcher. Models with glass globes provide glare-free illumination and bathe the room in pleasantly diffuse light.
Thanks to their base, they can be used flexibly and moved around as the mood takes you - perfect for creating light zones or changing the effect of a room. This turns every spherical floor lamp into a statement piece with function and character.

Spherical table lamps
A source of inspiration in a variety of materialsWhen creating globe table lamps, designers have surpassed themselves when it comes to the choice of materials. The list is long and creative: from glass and wood to steel and paper to jute and textile, everything is included that flatters the ball. Warm white light brings out the best in cosiness from the materials.
As decorative highlights, globe table lamps look almost like small works of art - whether on a sideboard, bedside table or shelf. Thanks to their space-saving shape, they are ideal for niches and small rooms, where they create pleasant additional lighting. At the same time, they are versatile: on the desk, side table or even on the windowsill, they set stylish accents and create a harmonious lighting ambience.

Round wall lamps
Sensual, purist play of lightThere's never a dull moment with the sphere - and the design options are extremely varied, even for wall lights with graceful curves. Whether casually draped as a single sphere or in combination with a practical shelf, the cosy lighting effect remains the same.
Round wall lamps are particularly effective in hallways, small rooms or next to the bed - they save space, flatter the room and require no floor space. Opal or satinised glass provides soft brightness and pleasantly diffuse light. As the perfect secondary light alongside the main lighting, round wall lamps create atmosphere and structure at the same time. Combined in rows, as a cluster or as a single design statement on the wall, they become a real eye-catcher - sensual, modern and wonderfully versatile.

Light globes for the garden
Warm light decoration for paths, meadows and treesSpherical lights are available as path, post and wall lights for garden paths, house facades and entrance areas. They make their grand entrance as warm decorative lights on lawns and flower beds, in trees and shrubs or on balconies and patios - as a floor lamp with globe, hanging globe lamp or ground spike with globe. Floating globe lights with an extra high IP code are also available for the summer garden and can be used all year round - even in rain, frost or snow.
White globe lights create a modern, clean look, while colourful versions create a particularly cosy garden atmosphere. In combination or as an ensemble of several globes, they unfold their full decorative effect and bathe outdoor areas in atmospheric light.
Whether for a garden party, wedding, summer party or as a sparkling Christmas decoration - globe lights are versatile and bring atmosphere and joy to the garden all year round. Smart models with a colour-changing function and app control provide additional variety, while solar globes light up in an environmentally friendly and energy-saving way.
Tip: If you want to replace the battery in your solar globe light, you should first check whether it is permanently installed or can be removed. The battery of many solar globe lights can be replaced. It is usually located in the housing under the solar module or in the battery compartment on the underside of the light. When replacing the battery, make sure that it has the same voltage, capacity and design as the original battery and check the operating instructions to see whether the battery may be replaced by the user.
