Smart home outdoor lighting
Intelligent lighting control in the garden, on the balcony and terrace
What functions and applications does smart home outdoor lighting offer?
Broadly speaking, smart home outdoor lighting offers two possible uses:
- Create a feel-good ambience** for the garden, patio and balcony with atmospheric light
- increase building security, which includes burglary protection, but also safe, accident-free orientation on the property
But the modern smart home offers even more: with other smart home devices and professional systems for home use, such as Rademacher or Homematic IP, garage doors, roller shutters, awnings and, of course, indoor functions such as heating or even coffee machines can be controlled at the touch of a button, by voice, program routine or sensor.

What smart home systems are available for outdoor lighting?
There are now numerous smart home providers on the market. However, not all smart home systems are self-contained. Using common wireless standards such as ZigBee, products from one provider can be integrated into the system of another, for example Philips Hue lights into the home automation system from Rademacher. This multiplies the range of available lights and smart home functions.
Before selecting the right system, it is also advisable to check whether the system can be controlled as desired: Does the product require a WLAN network? Can it also be controlled via Bluetooth without WLAN? Does it work with remote control? Can it be operated via voice assistant?
