É LED pendant light – understated Italian elegance

The size of the É pendant light, which is fitted with an LED bulb, makes it incredibly versatile. It can be used as a single light to illuminate smaller areas, whilst several can be used to provide lighting over a larger area. You can either hang them in a row at the same height – for example, above a bar – or group them together and hang them at different heights, for example in the living area. The É’s small, round lampshade is made of transparent polycarbonate and is slightly pleated.

Italian designer Ferruccio Laviani created a series of lights for Kartell, the design studio based near Milan. Like all other Kartell designs, this light is also made of plastic. Plastic in all its forms and colours is the basic material from which the designer pieces are made – the very pieces for which Kartell has become famous over the past few decades. Some of Kartell’s furniture and light pieces have now become design classics and can be found in various modern museums.
