Small, classic and compact

Another highlight from the Tolomeo light series from Artemide: The table lamp Tolomeo Micro is the smaller and more compact than the classic desk lamp version. Thanks to its space-saving dimensions, it fits on any small desk or side table. The height of the desk lamp in a normal working position is 37 cm, the depth 45 cm. The Tolomeo Micro and its features are just as impressive as its big brother: The flexible joints allow for an individual adjustment of the lampshade and thus precise illumination as needed.

The Tolomeo table lamp has won several international design awards, including the "Compasso d'Oro" (1989) and the "Observeur du design" (2001).

The designer and architect Michele de Lucchi developed the "Tolomeo" light series together with Giancarlo Fassina more than 30 years ago. A mechanism Lucchu had seen among fishermen in Apulia served as inspiration for the later form of the Tolomeo desk lamp, which he originally designed for his own workspace. The founder of Artemide, Ernesto Gismondi, was immediately enthusiastic about the designs, but the first prototypes did not work well. This was only remedied after the intervention of Giancarlo Fassinas allowing the Tolomeo to be launched on the market.
