Karl-Johan designer table lamp with dimmer switch
Signe Hytte, Danish designer and creator of the Karl-Johan lamp, was inspired to create her expressive series of lights during a walk in the autumn forest. This is why the table lamp has such a distinctive mushroom shape. The short, narrow base is made of Marquina marble. On top sits the "mushroom head", an almost spherical lampshade made of smoked glass. Technically, the light is equipped with a small but fine detail: a dimmer switch.
The Karl-Johan series of lights by Signe Hytte is produced and distributed by the Danish company New Works. The Copenhagen-based company's portfolio includes furniture, lights and other decorative and interior design items. The style can be described as a mixture of design and art in the spirit of Scandinavian minimalism.
