Lamells folded by hand: Designer pendant light Lamella 2 Typical of the lights from Danish manufacturer LE KLINT are the handmade pleated shades, which have been made by hand since the company was founded in 1943. The Lamella 2 pendant light by the two designers Hallgeir Homstvedt and Jonah Takagi is also equipped with a typical lamella shade - as the name of the light suggests. Inspired by mushrooms, which often have lamellae on the underside of their heads, Lamella's voluminous-looking lampshade is closed and consists of many small longitudinal folds that look like lamellae. The white, slightly shiny and translucent Folie was folded and formed by hand for this purpose. The first lampshades were designed by the architect and engineer P. V. Jensen-Klint, the father of company founder Tage Klint, at the beginning of the 20th century, until the company was officially founded and the first lighting shop opened in Copenhagen in 1943. Today, LE KLINT still sees itself as a manufacturer that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
