Rechargeable LED table lamp Outdoor Space from the house of Kartell
Adam Tihany, the designer of the table lamp Space, took as a model for the design of this lamp the famous Seattle observation tower Space Needle, which was built for the 1962 World's Fair. The lamp Space has a similar futuristic and modern look and is made entirely of different plastics (PMMA and ABS).
It is illuminated by LEDs that can be turned on and off by touching the upper part of the shade. In addition, the table lamp, which can be used outdoors thanks to IP54 protection, is equipped with rechargeable batteries and can be recharged. When the battery is full, the LEDs can shine for up to eight hours.
Milan-based design company Kartell is known for its plastic works, such as the K 1340 children's chair or the 4006 lamp. These are design classics that are still being produced many decades after their creation and enjoy great popularity or have found their way into design museums.
