This little mind game was also the starting point for the naming of the designer light MnM, whose three letters are reminiscent of these well-known chocolate lentils. As with the M&Ms in the spaghetti, so it is with the designs by Steven Jones. The British designer and co-founder of Innermost is known for applying a very simple but effective principle to his designs: He changes just one small thing about familiar and popular schemes, but it is so effective that it turns the basic concept on its head. In the case of the MnM pendant light's shade, he has taken a familiar and popular material (textile) and an equally popular form, namely that of the circle, and changed it so that the lampshade now has two ovals at the top and bottom as its cross-sectional area. The ovals are not parallel to each other, but opposite each other, resulting in an extremely interesting form that can demonstrate its full geometric diversity, especially when several MnM lights are used.
