The design gives an idea of why the light is called that. The aluminium and fibreglass body of the luminaire looks like a feather-light sheet of paper or a piece of fabric fluttering in the wind. The light source is located in the centre of this slightly undulating sheet, and the special feature of the light source itself is that it emits light both downwards and upwards. The light output on the table surface below the light is naturally much greater than that emitted upwards - understandable, as the light is mainly needed on the table surface.
