Foscarini Plass media table lamp with diffuse light The modern Plass media table lamp catches the eye of every observer. However, its special lampshade, which looks like a cut glass bead, is made of plastic. The polycarbonate is processed using the unique process of rotational moulding. The raw material is heated in a mould and then rotated until a hollow body is formed. This special manufacturing process causes small irregularities to appear on the surface, which can be seen even more clearly when the light is switched on. And it is precisely this irregular structure that makes the plastic look like Glas, which gives the Plass media table lamp its special appearance. When the light is switched on, it also creates an impressive atmosphere with a kaleidoscopic lighting effect. The impressive design of the Plass media luminaire series was created by Luca Nichetto. The Venice-born designer has developed various luminaire series for Foscarini. Nichetto modelled the design of Plass media on traditional Murano glass, which he impressively reinterpreted using a modern material and a special process.
