Foscarini Chouchin 3 – an elegant pendant light with a handblown glass lampshade in a glossy coloured finish
What makes this modern pendant light so unusual is not only its shape, but also the design of the lampshade. It is made of glass, handblown and crafted with great skill, and features an opaque coloured finish. The green colour shimmers on the outside, yet does not allow any light to pass through from the inside. Light is emitted solely through the opening at the base, which is framed by a white ring that begins to glow when the light is switched on. The direct lighting makes the Chouchin 3 pendant light an ideal light source for dining tables, counters or bars.
The Chouchin 3 was designed for the lighting manufacturer Foscarini by the French designer Ionna Vautrin. She drew inspiration from Japanese paper lanterns when developing the design. Her impressive reinterpretation, with its skilful retro look, combines tradition with modernity. All three Chouchin models differ in shape and colour and only appear harmonious and complete when used together.
