Design by Jette Scheib: Oyster pendant light

Two metal rings woven with cotton threads form the basis for the unusual lampshade of the Oyster pendant light. Its name is not entirely unjustified, as it is visually reminiscent of an oyster in an abstract sense. The pearl in the centre is represented by the bulb, which is concealed under a round cover. This disc ensures that the light from the bulb does not cause glare.

The designer of this series of lights, Jette Scheib, seeks inspiration in her surroundings, in people and their behaviour towards each other, and in their interaction with objects. She designs lights that are not only functional, but above all create a cosy atmosphere and have personality. Jette Scheib studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and now lives and works in Barcelona.
