The slender body of the Diamant table lamp is a shade and stand in one and is made from a special recycled material consisting of waste from wood processing and paper manufacturing and corn starch. The table lamp is then "printed" using a 3D printer. This sustainable manufacturing process produces no waste, there are no emissions and the manufacturer Tagwerk uses green electricity for production.
Tagwerk is a company that is using 3D printing for the first time for the mass production of everyday consumer goods. The biomaterial lignin used for the Diamant table lamp is free of petroleum and toxic substances and is just as robust and usable as conventional materials.
