Design table lamp Original 1227 by Anglepoise® The Original 1227 table lamp, which was created in 1933/34 by industrial designer George Carwardine, who originally worked in the automotive industry, became the model for spring-loaded lamps with its constant tension spring mechanism, which uses three springs to move this versatile work light. But that's not all: over the years, this functional and visually varied light source has become a design icon that is also used as a furnishing accessory in films and advertising. Thanks to its various adjustment options, the Original 1227 table lamp is predestined as a light source for the desk or work table. Equipped with an E27 socket: the lamp is supplied with a low-consumption LED bulb. Note: To ensure the balance of the Original 1227 table lamp, please ensure that the bulb used weighs between 25 and 60 g. George Carwardine (1887-1948) created a design Klassik with the Original 1227 table lamp, for which he sold the licence to the company Terry & Sons, which had previously supplied the springs for his design. In 1993, a descendant of the Terrys - Ray Terry - invested a lot of money in the further development of the Original 1227 table lamp, which was once made for factory halls.
