Conical shades & the design language of light

Lights.ie presents the revival of the conical shape

Fulda, 28. August 2025 - Slim, stylish and with a strong statement: the conical lampshade is celebrating its comeback - and in a surprising variety. What was once primarily intended to be functional is now becoming a design statement. Lights.ie shows how multifaceted "Conical Shapes" can conquer rooms - from deep black elegance and metallic glamour to natural simplicity.

Black as night - cone shapes with character

Conical lampshades in deep black define modern rooms with clarity and expression. Whether made entirely of fabric or metal, as an open lattice structure in a cage design or in combination with warm, shimmering brass: the dark tones not only look elegant, but also bring a fascinating interplay of light and shadow into the home. They develop a powerful presence, especially in combination with high-contrast surfaces or minimalist interiors.

Metallic cones - light meets glamour

From cool chrome to satin brass: metallic nuances lend the conical design a glamorous touch. In pendant lights above the dining table or as Akzentlicht in hallways, they create brilliant highlights. The tapered lampshade creates a focussed, almost sculptural light image - perfect for a modern interior with a luxurious twist. Tip: The conical lampshade is also perfect as a table lamp, as it directs the light precisely where it is needed.

Play of colours with a sense of form

Mustard yellow, sky blue, rosé or turquoise - conical lampshades in monochrome colours bring fresh accents to living and working areas. The clear form creates a calm counterpoint to the variety of colours. Particularly charming: models with several lampshades in a tone-on-tone look or as colourful clip-on lights on shelves, desks or beds. The conical lampshade gives even playful colours a stylish clarity.

Light in its softest form

White, cream, beige - in light shades, the conical silhouette becomes a calm lighting object. Whether 1-bulb with simple lines or multi-bulb combined with wood and metal accents: The light colour scheme underlines the minimalist character of the shape and blends harmoniously into Scandinavian-inspired rooms or modern country house styles. The focus is on lighting effects and stylish restraint.

Naturally conical - shape meets material

Concrete, bamboo, fleece, jute or linen: Natural materials meet the conical shape and open up new dimensions of cosy design. The clearly structured silhouette provides the perfect stage for surfaces with an organic character. Particularly popular: conical lights with a woven textile structure or lampshades made by hand from rattan. This makes each lighting object unique - and the room an oasis of calm.
