Which decorative solar lights are popular for the garden?

Ball lights and cube shapes are our most popular option for lighting flowerbeds, lawns and patios, especially those with modern colour-changing functions.

Colour changing solar lights light up in your favourite colours and take garden lighting to an impressive new level.

Earth spikes, fairy lights and lanterns are also a popular choice for adding light and personality to any outdoor space.

How do solar lights work?

Solar energy is converted into electrical energy via a solar panel which charges the battery throughout the day.

Once night falls, or at a regulated time of your choice, solar lights switch from storage mode to lighting mode, lighting up your night from dusk till dawn.

Please note: Since more sunlight means more energy, the solar panel should face south, be kept free of dust and dirt and be unobstructed by plants, leaves, trees or any other nearby building or structure.

How long do decorative solar lights need charging?

On a bright day, sunlight should be sufficient to fully charge a solar battery.

On cloudy days or during the darker months of the year, batteries may not charge fully. And in frost and other severe weather conditions, solar lights should be brought in as few solar powered products are designed to withstand adverse weather.

Please note: The day you purchase a decorative solar light you’ll need to charge it for between 2 to 10 days for the battery to reach maximum charge.

How long do solar lights shine?

This depends heavily on the quality of the in-built battery and the amount of solar energy absorbed. For this reason, the duration of light can vary between 5 and 20 hours.

As a rule, however, decorative solar lights last around 8 to 10 hours.
