JIELDÉ - 100 % FRANÇAISE

It is thanks to lighting brands such as Jieldé that the industrial style is so popular in the home. Jean-Louis Domecq's company has its roots in workshop lighting. It was not until 1983, when the brand was revamped by daughter Marie-Françoise Domecq, that the rustic-casual lamps found their way into home decor. Today, Jieldé lamps are true icons and are also provided with a number that identifies each product as an original one-off.

The Jieldé range

Visionary founder - Jean-Louis Domecq

Jean-Louis Domecq

It all began when Jean-Louis Domecq (1920-1983) - workshop manager at the time - noticed a shortage of good work lights. Driven by the desire to improve working conditions, in 1949 he designed a robust, simple and above all articulated table lamp that adapts completely to the needs of the user. In 1950, he went into series production with the "Standard" luminaire and founded his own company Jieldé from the initials of his name (JLD).

Masterful original - the "Loft"

The "Loft", formerly "Standard", is Jean-Louis Domecq's first luminaire and an icon of French industrial art. There are no cables in the frame of the luminaire: Domecq's system has contacts inside that make a cable superfluous. This allows the joints to be rotated freely up to the mechanical limit. Combined with its steel body, it was the perfect work light.

Today, as in the past, all Jieldé lamps are handmade in France. Jieldé is 100% French production.
