Launched in 2016 and created by industrial designer Sir Kenneth Grange, who has been the design director at Anglepoise® since 2003, the floor lamp not only impresses with a wide range of adjustment options, but also with a very appealing look. While Grange's basic design is rather timeless, the implementation by the well-known designer Paul Smith as Edition 1 is very modern with summery colours. Equipped with the comfortable constant spring mechanism of the Anglepoise® work light developed by industrial designer George Carwardine in 1930, whose springs mimic the activity of human arm muscles and thus provide the light with incredible mobility, the Original 1227 Giant floor lamp quickly becomes an indispensable everyday companion.

Before joining Anglepoise®, Sirene Kenneth Grange had already made a name for himself designing everyday products such as lighters, razors, writing instruments and cameras for well-known companies such as Wilkinson, Parker and Kodak. He also created the exterior design for the British InterCity 125 train.
