MARSET MVV pendant light with cherry wood

Based on a design from the 1970s: the timeless MVV pendant light with a cherry wood lampshade Manuel Valls Vergés, one of Spain's most important architects, designed the MVV pendant light back in the 1970s. It is his initials that give this pendant light its name, even though it remained a design until 2019, 45 years later. For MARSET, MVV has now been realised by Valls Vergés' grandson, who is also an architect, in cooperation with the Twobo design studio. The original design was followed very closely and this pendant light, which embodies the spirit of the 1970s, was modernised only subtly: the cherry wood exterior was supplemented with a white lacquered interior, which provides significantly improved lighting. The internal structure has also been optimised: instead of iron, which was originally intended to be used, polycarbonate has been used, which greatly reduces the weight of MVV. Otherwise, the octagonal-shaped pendant light remains true to the Original and also retains its original dimensions. The wood used and the play of light created by the overlapping Lamells create a pleasant, warm atmosphere. MVV is a successful homage to its inventor, which was also honoured with the Wallpaper* Design Award in 2020.
