Unusual in form and material - Overlap S1
Overlap - a series of lamps designed for FLOS by London-based designer Michael Anastassiades. The basis here are two steel rings interlocking at right angles. In his search for a way to connect the ends of the two circles, he came across the material "Cocoon".
This semi-transparent synthetic resin is applied in powder form to the steel frame of the rings. The result of this process is a mysterious and very unusual shape - the pendant lamp Overlap S1.Anastassiades himself says that it seems as if the rings are trying to break through the outer shell again and again. Depending on the angle, the lamp always appears new and fascinates with the extremely clever combination of shape, volume and special material.
