Suspension lamp PH 5/5 with triple shade system in black aluminum
The pendant lamp PH 5/5 is particularly eye-catching due to its strikingly designed, three-layer shade. This is based on the design of Poul Henningsen and has become a trademark of the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen. The shade is made of drawn aluminum. Its surface is black, while the inside is white. The light is diffused and glare-free emitted into the room. PH 5/5 is ideal, for example, to illuminate the kitchen or living room table, because the light is primarily radiated towards the floor.
Poul Henningsen's goal was to create luminaires with glare-free light that also cast soft shadows and direct the light to the desired location. In collaboration with Louis Poulsen created about a thousand models with three-shade system in a wide range of variations.
